Katie Raab

Katrina Raab has been a part of Freedom High School’s Art Department since her Freshman year by taking Art 1 and joining National Art Honor Society (NAHS). Sophomore year, she continued on to Art 2 and also took Sculpture and Ceramics. That year she won an honorable mention in the National Scholastic Art and Writing competition for her piece 1968. Taking sculpture class helped to reframe Katrina’s perspective on art, and she began to pursue sculpture more seriously. Her Junior year, Katrina took Art 3. That year she won a gold key from National Scholastics for her sculpture Bearer of Bad News. She was also the activities coordinator for NAHS This year, Katrina is taking AP Art with a sculpture concentration. She is also the president of NAHS. 

 

Next year, Katrina will begin her Joint Degree at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and The University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. She is majoring in international relations and minoring in art history. 

 

Katrina would like to thank all those that have supported her as she has grown up, but especially her art teachers. She started taking art classes as a little girl, and her art teachers have always been some of the most important people to her. She appreciates the late phone calls, incredible kindness, support, and honest advice.
